Welcome to West Priest Lake Fire District

Our History

Established in 1986, the West Priest Lake Fire District is a volunteer-staffed fire fighting organization proudly serving the communities on the west side of Priest Lake. Our team of dedicated volunteers provides vital fire protection and emergency response services to safeguard lives, property, and natural resources in our region

OUR STATIONS

  •  Chief Josh Gilbert has been with WPLFD since 2014 and brings a strong unwavering commitment to our community.  


  •  Additionally, our team is strengthened by the leadership of an Assistant Chief, a Battalion Chief, three Captains, all of whom contribute to the district’s dedication to effective, volunteer-driven emergency response.

 We currently have 3 fire stations servicing our District from the west shore of the lake to the Idaho /  Washington Border and from Hwy 57-MP 25 near the outlet dam, northward to just south of the Twin Islands area. 


Station #1 (Kalispell Bay Area)

 849 Kalispell Bay Road 

Equipment 

Fire Engine - 1,500 Gal.

Water Tanker - 2,500 Gal.

Brush Truck (Summer)

 

Station #2 (Nordman / Reader Bay / Granite Creek Area)  36410 ID Highway 57

Equipment 

Fire Engine - 750 Gal.

Water Tender- 5,000 Gal.


Station #3  (Lamb Creek Area)

Water Tender- 4,000 Gal.

 We offer a variety of services to the community including: 

  • Fire suppression for homes, businesses, boats, lightning strikes, etc.
  • Motor vehicle accident response to assist with extrication, provide traffic control and mitigate HazMat spills
  • Response to smoke and fire alarm activations
  • Downed powerline hazards
  • Mutual aid for Priest Lake Ambulance including Life Flight Landing Zone management
  • Fire Safety Inspections for homes, community fire systems and public buildings  
  • 1st Callout for Mutual Aid for Coolin Cavanaugh Bay Fire District and more


Our team of highly committed volunteers is always ready to respond to any emergency
